Once Upon a Time…
Hi guys, my name is Muhammad, CEO at Stackians. If you have ever tried to find clients on Freelancer, you know it is basically a form of modern torture. You sit there. You stare at the screen. You wait for a project to pop up. You read a confusing description, write a proposal, hit publish, and then… nothing happens. Complete silence.
I hated doing this. It took up my entire day. So I stopped. Instead, my team and I built a system to do it for us.
What the ‘freak’ did we actually build?
We built an internal tool using n8n, OpenAI, and a custom Node.js dashboard. Now, instead of wasting eight hours a day hunting for clients, I spend about five minutes. First, we had to get the data. Most people would try to scrape the Freelancer website. We didn’t do that. Why? Because scraping is a nightmare when the website changes its design, and more importantly, it is completely banned by the platforms. They will ban your account faster than you can say “API”.
So, we hooked our n8n automation directly into the official Freelancer API. Our system watches the board constantly. When a new project appears, n8n grabs it and filters out the junk. If a project requires skills we don’t have, the system trashes it instantly.
Who writes the proposals?
We don’t just send a generic “Hi sir, please hire me” message. That never works. If a project passes our first filter, we send the description over to OpenAI. We ask the AI to score the project from 1 to 10 based on how well it fits our specific agency skills. The AI reads the project, evaluates it, and writes a custom, highly specific proposal.
Here is the crazy part. If the AI scores the project a 9 or a 10, it doesn’t even ask for my permission. It just takes the proposal and bids on the project directly through the API. Boom. Done. We get our bid in before a human can even finish reading the project title. If the score is lower than a 9, the AI still writes the full proposal. It just sends a message to our Discord and drops the drafted bid into a custom mobile dashboard we built so we can review it first.

Now, I can literally be standing in line for coffee, open my phone, and see a list of vetted projects with proposals already written. I read it, click a single “Publish” button, and the bid is placed. And because we want the AI to get smarter, we track which bids actually win jobs. We feed that data back into the AI so it learns what works. It writes better proposals today than it did yesterday.
